Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By using BC Addiction Hub, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

2. Information and navigation service

BC Addiction Hub is a research prototype that organizes information about addiction-care services and selected professional resources. It is not a healthcare provider, referral recipient, emergency service, health authority or substitute for an individual clinical assessment. Using the site does not create a physician-patient or other professional relationship.

3. Emergencies

Do not use this site for an emergency. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for suspected overdose, life-threatening withdrawal, severe breathing difficulty, loss of consciousness, imminent risk of harm or another medical emergency.

4. Service listings and applications

Program details, eligibility, hours, costs, referral requirements, availability and contact information can change. Confirm important information directly with the service. Links to applications and third-party websites are provided for convenience; those organizations control their own services, forms, decisions and privacy practices.

A participating service may create an Application Tracker after it receives an application. The tracker does not itself submit an application, establish eligibility, guarantee contact or reserve a bed. The service issues the applicant a secure token, including after receipt of an online application. The token holder is responsible for protecting that token, and status updates reflect information entered by participating staff. Optional email, text and calendar reminders are a convenience and delivery is not guaranteed; users must still check the tracker and contact the service when needed.

5. No medical advice

Patient-facing pathways and assistant responses provide general access information only. They do not diagnose, triage, prescribe, establish eligibility or recommend individualized treatment. Always seek advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.

6. Protected clinician workspace

Clinical tools are restricted to approved professional users. Users must keep their sign-in secure, use the material only for legitimate professional purposes, avoid entering patient identifiers and verify all decisions against the complete primary source, current product information, local policy and patient-specific assessment. Access may be declined, suspended or removed to protect the service or its users.

7. Assistant limitations

The Hub assistants are deliberately limited reference tools. They may misunderstand a question, omit relevant context or be unable to answer. An answer must not be treated as a clinical order, professional opinion, guarantee of service access or replacement for human review.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Submit identifiable patient information.
• Misrepresent your identity or professional status.
• Attempt to bypass access controls or disrupt the site.
• Use the site for unlawful, harmful or misleading purposes.
• Copy or republish third-party material contrary to its licence.

9. Third-party materials

Guidelines, program names, trademarks and linked documents remain the property of their respective owners. Links or summaries do not imply endorsement of BC Addiction Hub by BCCSU, Interior Health, a listed service or another third party.

10. Availability and changes

The site may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn without notice. We may update these terms by posting a revised version and date.

11. Disclaimer and limitation

The site is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, BC Addiction Hub does not guarantee that its content is complete, current, error-free or suitable for a particular decision, and is not responsible for decisions made by independent services or third-party websites.

12. Governing law and contact
